All to help ensure the smoothest preparation for your little one.

Nesting during pregnancy is the overwhelming desire to get your home ready for your new baby.

Getting Started

According to the American Pregnancy Association, the nesting instinct often kicks in during the final weeks of pregnancy. To make the most, having the right products and resources can help everything go more smoothly.

For first-time moms, we recommend starting with a well-thought-out registry. But how do you know if you’re choosing the right items? That’s where we come in. Join Nesters’ Build Your Registry in 1 Hour coaching session to confidently prepare for your baby.

Once you have the essentials, it’s time to think about your day and night routines. Even if you're planning for a vaginal birth, sometimes a cesarean becomes the best option. With different possibilities in mind, it's important to make sure you're fully prepared ahead of time—so you’re not caught without something you need when it matters most.

And if you're anything like me, you might find yourself running through every possible scenario in your head to make sure nothing’s forgotten. Wouldn’t it be reassuring to get confirmation from an expert—so you can stop second-guessing and start feeling at ease? That’s exactly what we’re here for.

What you can do on your own

Here are some practical things you can do as you approach your due date:

  • Your OBGYN and birth classes will help ensure that everything is progressing well and will equip you with essential skills for caring for your baby. We recommend writing down any questions you have ahead of time so you don’t forget to ask your doctor or instructor.

  • Nesting isn’t just about preparing your home—it also means having important conversations with your partner. Discuss what responsibilities might look like once the baby arrives, and set clear expectations around your new lifestyle. These conversations can help you maintain a healthy, supportive relationship during this major transition.

  • We’ve worked with many mamas who love being hands-on in preparing for their baby. While we can take care of everything without you lifting a finger, we also love when you're involved in the process. Ask us questions about how products work, what to look out for, and how to care for yourself while caring for your baby.

  • And if you enjoy hanging up those tiny baby clothes, go for it! You don’t have to wait for us—we’ll focus on other areas of prep while you do what brings you joy. Our role is to work alongside you and guide you through the parts where you feel less confident.

How Nesters can help

At Nesters PDX, we’re your partners in nesting. We meet you where you are—whether it's your physical space, your concerns, or what’s keeping you up at night. During pregnancy, rest and community support are essential for both your mental and physical well-being—and we’re here to make sure you have both.

As moms who have been through this journey ourselves, we’re passionate about making sure other moms feel confident, cared for, and never alone in preparing for their baby. That’s why our services aren’t limited to a list—they’re built around what you and your family truly need.

Everything we do is customized. We want to hear how your home is set up—do you live in a one-story home, or is your bedroom upstairs? We’ll create a personalized prepping strategy that fits your layout and lifestyle. We’ll also take inventory of what you’ve already prepared and what you might still need. From there, you’ll receive a tailored report with product recommendations that, based on our experience, truly make a difference in a new mom’s day-to-day life.

And when there’s something outside our scope, we’ll connect you with trusted resources and experts from our network of “mom pros,” so you’re never left to figure things out on your own.
